Police have called off their search for a missing pensioner after he was found safe and well.
A helicopter was used to find Doug Kimber who was last seen at around 3.30pm today at Bartons Point Coastal Park off Marine Parade, Sheerness.
Many people turned out to help find the 76-year-old when police said they were becoming 'increasingly concerned' for his welfare.
His daughter-in-law Lisa Poppe said: "We are so grateful for people going out searching."
At one point police asked people searching to stay in their cars and not walk around Barton’s Point Coastal Park in case the helicopter with heat-seeking equipment picked up searchers on foot by mistake.
He was eventually found at Queenborough about four hours later.
