A bingo fan who has been playing for most of her life has scooped £50,000 in her second big win.
The 75-year-old from Sheerness – who previously won £107,000 – was playing at King’s Bingo on Monday when all her numbers came up and she found out she had won the National Bingo Game jackpot.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, knew she had won a jackpot prize as well as the house prize and was waiting to find out if it was an extra £100 or £1,000.
But bingo caller Clive Cornelius confirmed the claim and announced it was a top prize and the whole club cheered.
The National Bingo Game offers jackpot prizes of £100, £1,000 and £50,000 on every game, in addition to a house prize in each participating bingo club.
The Sheppey winner has three children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and is planning on keeping the money in the bank until the New Year to decide what she wants to do with it.
She was introduced to the game by her mother at the age of 18 and they both used to go to bingo together in Sittingbourne.
Her latest win comes after she scooped £107,000 on April 26, 1999 – also on the National Bingo Game.
It is also the second time the pensioner has won on a Monday, and the second time the numbers were called by the same bingo caller, Clive Cornelius.
She said. “Anybody who’s thinking about going to bingo, just go for it! I always enjoy playing.
“It’s not just about winning, though it’s lovely when you do. It also gets me out of the house.”
Minnie McCoy, owner of King’s Bingo Sheerness, purchased the club in 2019 with husband Tom.
“What a great way to start the New Year...”
She said: “We were all very excited on the night of the win and are very happy for the lucky winner.
“It’s a great feeling when a customer gets a big win and this is my first big win at the club since taking over.”
Alastair Stewart, business development manager at the National Bingo Game, said: “We are thrilled for our lucky National Bingo Game £50,000 Jackpot winner in Sheerness and hope they enjoy their winnings.
“They can certainly splash out this Christmas and in the January sales too! What a great way to start the New Year!”
