THE jury in the trial of five men accused of murdering Christopher Alamene have visited the scene where the black teenager lost his life.
The six men and six women went to Sheerness High Street along with the judge, Mr Justice Goldring, lawyers, the defendants and other court officials.
Maidstone Crown Court has heard that Mr Alamene, who was 18, was chased by a group of men and stabbed after an alleged racist comment was made about him.
Within just a few seconds, innocent bystander Mark Davis, an off-duty Sheerness taxi driver, was knifed five times.
The blade penetrated Mr Alamene's liver and pierced a vital vein. He died shortly afterwards. One of 29-year-old Mr Davis's wounds, described by the prosecution as "cruel and ugly", was to his rectum.
Terence Beaney, 24, Peter Connolly, 30, Andrew Giblin, 27, and brothers Gerry, 28, and Sean Duhig, 24, all from South east London, deny murder on April 21.
Beaney, Connolly and Giblin also deny wounding Mr Davis with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
The trial continues this Friday.
