A record number of lorries are using Sheppey to reach France.
Peel Ports, which operates Sheerness Docks, says the daily service by the MV Botnia to Calais recorded its "busiest ever month" in April.
The route, run by ferry firm DFDS, carried more than 3,981 unaccompanied trailers across the channel last month.
It is seen by some to be the best solution to beat customs delays, driver shortages and limited storage facilities.
The scheme was first introduced in June last year in response to demand from hauliers, cargo owners and shipping lines facing delays at Dover caused by Brexit, Operation Brock and problems with sailings by rival firm P&O.
Richard Goffin, port director at Sheerness, said: “These record-breaking achievements are a true testament to the increasing capabilities and efficiencies of our operations at London Medway, as well as our outstanding team, without which this wouldn’t have been possible."
He added: “We have invested heavily into our port estate, improving resiliency and capacity and providing a more attractive UK entry point over other southern ports."
He said: "Our dedicated RoRo (roll-on, roll-off) facilities, location and accessibility provide significant benefits for our customers including DFDS.
"The success of the MV Botnia Seaways vessel and the wider partnership demonstrates how London Medway is going from strength to strength. It is a strong indication for our future success.”
