Young cyclists donned their high-vis jackets before taking to the streets.

Year five and six children at Minster Primary School had their cycling proficiency tests last week.

The 24 pupils were the second group from the school in Brecon Chase, Minster, to have a go at the test.

The first did their tests last October.

They spent three days taking level one and two of the National Standard Cycle Training test where they learnt about basic bike control and maintenance before going out and about in Minster.

Twenty-two of the children passed, as well as another two who re-took it from last time, and they were given a certificate, badge and high-vis jacket.

PE leader Maggie Day said: "They really enjoyed it – it’s been such a success we have asked if we can re-run it.

"It’s encouraged more of them to cycle to school."
