An Island shop is under investigation by the National Lottery.
Camelot has stopped Costcutter in Minster Road, Minster, from selling tickets and scratch cards while it investigates a complaint.
A Camelot spokesman said: “We can confirm we have suspended a National Lottery retailer in Minster, pending an internal investigation.
“We can’t comment on the individual circumstances or provide any further details at this stage.”
The operator, which was awarded the franchise 23 years ago, said it runs the National Lottery with the utmost integrity and allegations against retailers are very rare.
The spokesman added: “Camelot takes matters of propriety very seriously.
"Our aim as operator of the National Lottery is to ensure we raise as much money as possible for good causes through selling lottery tickets in a socially-responsible way.
“We are committed to investigating allegations made against any retailer selling National Lottery tickets.
“If a retailer is found to be in breach of their retailer agreement, which includes obligations to pay out prizes properly, or Camelot believes the breach is likely to undermine the integrity and security of the National Lottery and player confidence in it, our security team will look at all the evidence to determine what sanctions, if any, would be appropriate.
“The success of the National Lottery is built on player trust and Camelot will not allow that trust to be undermined in any way."
Players are advised to sign the back of their ticket and check whether it is a winner at www.national-lottery.co.uk before presenting it in any store.
A spokesman for Costcutter confirmed the National Lottery was currently unavailable at the store.
“However, the owner is working closely with Camelot to restore this service as soon as possible,” he added.
