A serious riot is believed to have broken out at Swaleside prison on Sheppey.
Early reports suggest a prison officer has been stabbed and the air ambulance has landed.
The Home Office has dispatched its specialist Tornado unit to the jail, a group of officers specially trained to quell prison riots.
