A man and a woman have been charged by officers investigating the death of a child in Minster.

Police received a report of a medical emergency at an address in Lapwing Close involving a months-old baby boy on April 13.

The child later died in hospital on April 27.

Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have been investigating the circumstances behind the death.

A 32-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man have been charged with causing serious injury or death to a child as a result of an unlawful act.

They have both been bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on November 15.
