A man is in a critical condition in hospital after a road accident last night.

It is believed the 32-year-old was riding an off-road motorbike when it lost control and crashed in Park Avenue, Leysdown, at around 6pm.

The man, from London, was taken by land ambulance to the Royal London Hospital with serious head injuries.

Police are investigating.
