Man airlifted to hospital after 'stabbing' in Delamark Road, Sheerness

A man remains seriously ill in hospital after what is believed to have been a stabbing in a private address.

Police were called to a property in Delamark Road, Sheerness, after reports of an assault.

Officers found the man inside with "injuries consistent with stab wounds."

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "He was taken to a London hospital via air ambulance where he was treated for serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening."

Police said he was still in hospital today (Tuesday).

The 999 call was made at 1.33pm last Thursday afternoon but details have only just been released. Dec 2

Residents reported that the road was closed off with a police cordon.

Shoppers watched as the Kent Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance helicopter landed at nearby Beachfields park near a children's sand pit next to a McDonald's restaurant.

Desmond Triggs, 56, of Delamark Road, Sheerness, was arrested at 3pm on the same day and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court at a later date to be confirmed.
