A man's body was discovered this morning in a car on a Kent beach.

Police went to the scene near Barton's Point, Sheerness, at around 8am after being alerted by a member of the public.

The man, who is believed to be in his 60s and from Maidstone, was discovered in a white Ford Mondeo.

Police spokesman Helen Bell said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Next-of-kin are in the process of being informed of the man's death.
