Air ambulance called after man injured by sheet of metal at Klondyke Industrial Estate, Queenborough

A man has been injured by a sheet of metal in a suspected industrial accident in Queenborough.

The incident happened at Glencoe Transport, which is based at the Klondyke Industrial Estate in Rushenden Road.

The man, said to be in his 30s, suffered foot and ankle injuries.

Two ambulances and two medical cars rushed to the scene at about 11.25am.

The Kent Air Ambulance was also called to the incident. It landed on the old castle site opposite the train station.

Helicopter medics treated the man at the scene before he was transferred by road ambulance to Medway Maritime Hospital.

Police said the man’s next-of-kin had been informed and the Health and Safety Executive was looking into the matter.
