Minster face a big test to their credentials this weekend after lifting themselves back into the Shepherd Neame Kent League, Division 3 promotion places.
After defeating Catford Wanderers last Saturday, the Islanders sit joint-second in the division with Linden Park, and the two sides meet this Saturday.
Minster captain James White (pictured) has already guided his side to one victory over the Tunbridge Wells-based side in the league and he’s now plotting another success.
White said: "It was another good win for us on Saturday and it was a good game.
"That puts us into joint-second position with Linden Park and we’re back on track for promotion.
"Linden are quite a solid team and they have Abhijit Kale in their side, who is the leading run scorer in the league (averaging over 82), but he’s never done well against us.
"I’m hoping that bad luck continues and I can see Nathan Nichol mopping him up early doors. He is a good player though and we need to make sure we get him out early."
Minster had Mark Tucker to thank during Saturday’s 40-run win over Catford, but his innings suffered because of a hamstring injury and his wicket eventually fell for 60.
He is doubtful for this weekend, while Mike Rees is unavailable, but White has plenty of options.
"Adil Mohamad came into the team on Saturday for his 1st XI debut and bowled fantastically well," said White.
"He’ll be going into the game full of confidence and I’m sure he’ll be back in for the Linden Park game.
"With Nichol as well, we’ve got quite a bowling attack pace-wise and we’re bowling really well."
White could also call upon batsman George Duggan this weekend after impressive displays for the seconds.
Catford were chasing Minster’s total of 191 at Gilbert Hall last Saturday, but Mohamad dealt with the opening pair.
Wickets were also claimed by Rees (3-29), White (3-32) and Nichol (2-46).
