A young man has told how he feared for his life when a mugger swung at him with a knife, slashing his forearm, leg and chest.
Kenrick Bullen was confronted by three masked people on a footpath leading to Sheerness Golf Club near Power Station Road, Halfway.
The 20-year-old (pictured right) was on his way to see his mother at work in Tesco, Sheerness, before the attempted robbery at around 6pm last Thursday.
His attackers jumped out from the bushes and one demanded his phone and wallet.
When shop worker Mr Bullen - of Harps Avenue, Minster - refused, he was cut with a knife and managed to run off.
He said: "I was scared and shocked. I don't know what he would have done if I hadn't got away."
Mr Bullen said two of his friends had been approached by masked thieves in separate incidents on the same footpath.
One had his phone stolen two weeks ago while the other managed to get away three weeks ago.
In Sheerness, two men had their phones taken by two men wearing balaclavas in Hawthorn Avenue and Coronation Road on March 29 and March 30.

"Then the other two came out and at that moment I realised he had a knife in his hand.
"I answered no he can't have them and then he ripped my top and started swinging for me with the knife."
At that point, Mr Bullen started running and tur ned to see the masked offenders heading in the opposite direction towards the golf course.
