Doing something funny for money helped a Minster school raise £572 for Comic Relief.
Pupils at St George’s CE Primary School, in Chequers Road, dressed as pirates or monsters.
They arrived at school to find head teacher Howard Fisher was also in full pirate costume complete with parrot, hook and cutlass.
The children and their parents started the day with a ‘wake up and shake’ dance routine to The Black Eyed Peas song I’ve got a Feeling.
During the whole school assembly, the children paraded in their costumes to school governor Hilde Koets and then cheered and booed as Mr Fisher made teacher Robert Gold ‘walk the plank’.
Mr Fisher thanked parents for their support.
