Sheerness Police Station will be the base for more officers, whose redeployment has been announced.

They were previously based in a different part of Swale, but will now be transferred to the Millennium Way station.

Inspector Craig West said: “We regularly look at ways to improve the service Kent Police provides to the community and will allocate officers according to demand.

“We will be increasing the number of officers working from Sheerness Police Station, and they will respond to calls across Swale.”

The Sheerness Times Guardian asked how many officers would be based there, but Kent Police said it did not discuss operational matters.
