Sittingbourne and Sheppey MP Gordon Henderson has been admitted to a specialist hospital.
The Tory was injured in an accident at his Eastchurch home on Tuesday evening.
He was taken to Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, West Sussex, for treatment.
Details of what happened to Mr Henderson or what his injuries are, have not been released.
However, there is speculation he may have suffered burns relating to a barbecue.
Kent Air Ambulance was called to the Island on Tuesday to transfer a patient with "fire and smoke" injuries to his chest upper arm and lower leg.
The NHS hospital specialises in "providing life-changing reconstructive surgery, burns care and rehabilitation services for people across the South of England".
In a statement released this morning, the 69-year-old said: "I expect to remain in hospital for a few more days after which I will return home to recuperate.
"Thank you to everyone for their good wishes and I remind everyone that my constituency office remains open for business as usual."
Mr Henderson has represented his constituency since the 2010 election.
Last year he was returned with almost 50% of the overall vote.
