Police are hunting for a mystery crashed car which was later reported stolen.
The blue Honda Jazz was in collision with another vehicle near the junction of Barton Hill Drive and the Lower Road, Minster, on Saturday night.
The car’s shocked owner, a 36-year-old care worker from Leysdown who had been visiting patients, said: "I was told there was a four-hour wait for a recovery truck so I temporarily left the car where it was with its hazard lights flashing. The airbags had gone off and it looked like a write-off.
"When the RAC arrived at 7.40am on Sunday morning my car had disappeared. All that was left was part of the front bumper."
She has appealed for dashcam footage to find what happened to the vehicle.
A police spokesman said: "We were called at 8.20pm to a two-vehicle collision in Barton Hill Road, Minster.
"No serious injuries were reported. However, the owner of one the cars involved has reported their vehicle was stolen while it awaited recovery. Enquiries to establish the full circumstances remain ongoing."
The car's owner, who did not want to be named, said she had called other recovery companies but had drawn a blank.
Paramedics were at the scene and took the other driver to hospital. The Honda driver went to hospital the following day to be treated for bruising.
