Pieces of Sheppey history are up for sale as pews at a church are being removed to make way for new activities.
Some of the seats at Minster Abbey, which are believed to be around 130 years old, were taken out a few years ago and put into storage as part of a restoration project.
The next stage of work is now nearing completion with the removal of some more church and choir pews which are now up for sale. A screen has also been taken down.
There are plans to create an open space for educational visits and concerts which the Rev Tim Hall, vicar of the Benefice of West Sheppey, says will bring the building more in line with its original state.
Plans for the re-organisation can be viewed on a display at the back of the Abbey, in Vicarage Road, Minster.
The pews are available for £75 each with all money going back into the church funds. Anyone interested can call 01795 871500.
Mr Hall said: “I will be in the Abbey today from 10am to 11am, if anyone has any questions.”
