Two-time Superbowl winning American Footballer Byron Chamberlain was at the Oasis Academy last week.
Chamberlain won successive Super Bowl championships for the Denver Broncos and is now touring schools in a bid to get more people interested in the sport.
There are hopes that following Chamberlain’s visit a non-contact version of the sport called Flag Football can take off among schools in Kent.

James Smith, PE teacher and head of department at the Oasis Academy (east site), hopes Chamberlain’s visit will benefit the children long-term after meeting pupils from year 7.
He said: “It is fantastic that Byron agreed to come along to help raise awareness of Flag Football.
“The game of American Football is good for co-ordination and team skills, as players have to organise set-plays and outwit the opposition. It’s a sport that is different to the norm and so we’re starting from scratch.
“It would be great if we could now create a district league in Flag Football.”
