An artistic pupil has had her colourful design printed on supermarket shopping bags.
Tesco Sheerness invited pupils to come up with a picture about healthy food and Nicole Bouman, from Halfway Houses Primary School, was chosen as the winner.
The 11-year-old’s creation, which features a carrot and a lemon and the slogan Love Your Fruit, has been reproduced on hessian bags, which are available in the Bridge Road store on a first come, first served basis.
She also won for her class, at the school in Southdown Road, Halfway, a £250 Junior Chef Academy cookery workshop where children learnt how to prepare healthy and tasty meals.
All the youngsters were given a bag, which has “I love Sheerness” printed on the other side to Nicole’s image.
Store manager Stuart Finch said: “My team and I are delighted to have Nicole’s colourful design on the hessian bags.
“It is always great to get the children within our communities involved and this was not only educational it was a lot of fun too”.
The supermarket has also given local primary schools £100 gift cards to allow them to buy fruit for a month.
