A larger-than-life darts maestro was gobsmacked when he was beaten by three members of the public at a charity darts day.
The “throw against the pro” day at Betfred, in the Broadway, Sheerness, featured super player Peter ‘One Dart’ Manley – famed for his unending supply of on tap bullseyes.
But the darts giant’s luck ran out when he was faced with some super-Sheppey players at the event on Tuesday.
Betfred area manager, Lisa Waters, said: “It went really well and we got a lot of people turning up to try to beat him.
“Amazingly three people actually managed to. We have got some really good darts players on the Island and a great darts following, but we were still surprised considering he’s one of the best players in the country.”
For every point a novice made on the board Betfred donated £1 to an as yet undecided local charity.
Participants who tried to beat the world championship player - who is sponsored by a brand of pork scratchings - were given an Irish lottery voucher as a thank you.
