New Look shop manager organises online auction in aid of Oliver Smith, from Minster

There are plenty of interesting lots up for grabs in an online charity auction to help a Sheppey youngster who has cancer.

Five-year-old Oliver Smith has the childhood disease neuroblastoma and his family are trying to raise money for treatment he could need in Germany if his condition worsens, which could cost up to £500,000.

Last year we reported how fashion chain New Look had taken on the cause for the next year.

Its 22 branches in the region are supporting Oliver, of Coral Road, Minster, through collections and staff organising their own events.

As part of this, manager at the Maidstone shop Jade Morley, who lives in Stanley Avenue, Queenborough, has organised the Oliver Smith Online Auction on Facebook.

It runs from Friday, February 14, to Friday, February 21.

Donations already include gym membership, beauty treatments, shopping vouchers and much more.

Mrs Morley said: “I have had such an amazing response from people.

“We’ve got a real range of things to bid on.”

Oliver is having a week off from Halfway Houses Primary School with chicken pox.
