She may be too young to remember the television series but little Holly Sparks certainly had a lovely jubbley time at an Only Fools and Horses convention.

Six-year-old Holly, from Minster was at the event at Mote Park, Maidstone, on Sunday, September 29, and joined more than 2,000 people who turned up to see stars such as Roger Lloyd-Pack, who played the much- loved Trigger, Pat Murray, who played Mickey Pearce, Paul Barber, who played lorry driver Denzil, and Roy Marsden and Christopher Ryan, who played the gangster Driscoll brothers, among others.

The annual event tends to travel around the north of England but this year organisers came south – and they were not disappointed.

Perry Aghajanoff , president of the Only Fools and Horses’ Appreciation Society was hugely delighted with how popular the event was. He said: “Kent has certainly done us proud this year.”

People queued for hours for autographs, to see the famous yellow three wheeler, to buy memorabilia and bid for rare items at an auction.

The convention, now in its 11th year usually sees about 1,600 people attend. Such was the success of this year’s conference, organisers are hoping to hold next year’s in Kent too.

They are planning to bring the show in 2009 to Margate, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the episode Jolly Boys’ Outing, which was filmed in the seaside town in 1989.
