A middle-aged pervert arranged to meet a parent believing he would be able to have sex with his 11-year-old daughter, a court heard.
But when Alan Gibson met up with the “father” after explicit chatroom conversations, he discovered he had been caught in a police sting.
Now, the married 55-year-old, of Rowan Lea, Chatham, has been jailed for three years and four months after admitting arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.
In the chat conversations beginning in June, Gibson and the undercover officer discussed child sex abuse. Gibson suggested meeting up at a naturist beach in Leysdown.
Depraved Gibson spoke of what he would do sexually to the girl. He said he was interested in children from the age of 10 upwards.
He claimed it was the first time he had travelled to meet anyone to abuse a child.
They finally arranged to meet at Queenborough railway station on September 12.
He was arrested after he arrived by train.
Gibson’s name will appear on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely and he will be barred from working with children and vulnerable adults.
