Plans have been resubmitted for two three-storey blocks of flats on a disused petrol station.
The former Gulf Oil filling station at the junction of Invicta Road and Sheerness High Street is now being used as a Greek restaurant and car wash.
The outline plan is for 10 one-bedroom flats and six two-bedroom apartments with parking and electric charging bays.
The proposal was originally submitted to Swale council in August but pulled in November after permission was given to turn the site into a restaurant instead.
A document supporting the plans for Mr B Dedushi said the scheme had been redesigned and will feature a communal garden.
The developers say it is sustainable because it is near a bus stop, pharmacy and GP surgery.
Vehicle entry will be from the Invicta Road one-way system.
