A plaque has been made to commemorate the life of a councillor who died earlier this year.
Conservative councillor, Cameron Beart, passed away suddenly at his home in Oak Avenue, Minster in January.
The 31-year-old represented the Queenborough and Halfway ward for Swale and was also elected to Kent County Council in 2021 to serve Sheppey.
A plaque in his memory has now been fitted by the Queenborough Harbour Trust at the Queenborough Harbour walkway, the main boating refuge on the Swale Estuary that runs Sheppey's mooring services, so residents can have a permanent reminder of his service to the Island.
The trust said: "We decided it would be fitting for a 'Harbour Hero' plaque to be fitted to our walkway in memory of him for all to see.
"Cameron did a lot for us in Queenborough and for the Isle of Sheppey. He will always be remembered."
The tribute has been well received online.
Writing on Facebook, Rosemary Lipscombe said: "It's really fitting - no one has come up to his standard of giving information to all residents of Sheppey."
Gareth Jones added: "It's a nice touch. He was a really hard working councillor, and definitely one of the best. Rest in peace."
Following his death more than 100 people attended a candlelit vigil for Mr Beart.
His funeral was held on March 7 at the Garden of England Crematorium.
