Staff and pupils at a nursery are celebrating after receiving their latest Ofsted report.

SS Henry and Elizabeth Playgroup, which is based at the Catholic Church Hall, Broadway, Sheerness, was rated ‘good’ following a recent inspection.

The group, which has 23 children, was founded in 1995 by Kim Neal and Loraine Harding, who retired in January.

Mrs Neal has now taken it on by herself and was delighted with the rating achieved by her and her two staff, Shara Francis and Chloe Neal.

An inspector observed indoor and outdoor activities and spoke with parents, staff and children.

The report, which was published, found the children are independent learners with strong self-help skills as staff support them and interact positively with them.

Children have formed strong friendships and seek out others to play with, sharing and taking turns happily, it said.

It also notes parents and carers are welcomed warmly into the setting and are involved in their youngster’s learning in development.

Mrs Neal said: “We are very pleased.

“The staff have worked so hard and they are so good with the children and parents.

“It’s something good for the area.”
