Three police squad cars with their blue lights flashing stopped a black BMW in Trinity Road, Sheerness this morning.
The BMW was penned in by a patrol car at the front and two at the back.
Officers could be seen searching the vehicle.
Traffic built up during the operation opposite the former Swale council offices.
Police later said it was a routine investigation.
A police spokesman said: "At 9.27am a police officer on routine patrol in Marine Parade, Sheerness, asked a vehicle to stop which it did so.
"No offences were found and no arrests were made."
