Officers are appealing for information following the theft of airsoft weapons from a vehicle.

The incident happened in Berridge Road, Sheerness, between 8.30pm last Thursday, November 24, and 4.30am the next morning.

Airsoft is a sport similar to paintball in which people engage in mock combat and fire small plastic pellets at one another.

The guns used are designed to resemble real weapons, with replica rifles among those reported stolen.

Detective Sergeant Steve Smith, of Kent Police, said: "Although these items are not real working firearms, they certainly resemble them and could cause concern among people if they are seen being carried in a public place.

"I would strongly encourage anyone who witnessed the theft itself or who knows who may be in possession of these weapons to call the appeal line on 01795 419119, quoting reference XY/47534/16.
