KENT Police are appealing for witnesses after a large group of men were seen brawling late at night in the street.

Police spokesman Sally Smith said they received reports that about 12 men were involved in the fight in Sheerness High Street near the junction with Millennium Way and at least two men were on the ground in need of help.

Witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 11.40pm last Friday, have said that some members of the group were carrying knives and bottles.

Police dispersed the group and are asking for anyone with information to come forward to help with their investigation. Contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
