The front of Sheerness Police Station has been taped off after a police officer was injured.
At least six police cars and an ambulance are parked outside.
A police spokesman said: "A police officer was injured as he intervened with a man who has walked into traffic outside Sheerness Police Station.
"The incident happened at 4.45pm.
"The man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in custody.
"Officers are currently carrying out an investigation at the scene."
The station is in Millennium Way, Sheerness.
