Police closed one of Sheppey's busiest roads for almost four hours after an accident brought a power line crashing down.
The Lower Road in Minster was shut at the Thistle Hill roundabout as a result of the crash involving a car and a van.
It happened near the junction with Scocles Road at 3.20pm and left the road blocked.
Traffic was diverted through the Thistle Hill estate until Lower Road reopened at 7.12pm.
There was confusion over what had been hit in the crash, with police describing it as a lamppost. However, it is believed it was actually a telegraph pole with a light on it.
A Sheppey Fire Station spokesman said two fire engines were sent at about 4.15pm after the car and van crashed.
Firefighters performed first aid while they waited for paramedics but no one is thought to have been seriously hurt.
A UK Power Networks spokesman said: "Power was turned off for safety reasons to three customers at around 3.45pm on Tuesday following third party damage to a piece of electrical equipment in a road traffic accident on Lower Road, Minster on Sea.
"UK Power Networks’ engineers worked quickly and safely to replace the damaged equipment and all customers had supplies restored at 2.55am."
The power had to be turned off for safety reasons after a power cable was brought down.
An ambulance spokesman said: "I can confirm one ambulance crew attended the scene and a woman was assessed and treated before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital."
