The date for the closure of Swale Council's Sheerness cash office has been announced.
The council decided in February to shut its cash desks at the three council offices in the borough and said the change would give residents more choice about where they can pay bills.
Cllr Mike Cosgrove, portfolio holder for Finance said: “The decision to close the cash offices was not taken lightly and was part of a package of savings recommended by the Executive to the Council."
The Sheerness office in Trinity Road will close on Friday, July 11.
Users can make arrangements to use PayPoint outlets and Post Offices.
The council's head of finance David Buckett urged people to consider using the PayPoint scheme and said those who pay using direct debit, standing orders or postal cheques would be unaffected by the closures.
He added: "At the council we know that some people prefer to use cash to pay their bills."
If you have never used PayPoint before, contact Swale Borough Council’s Customer Service Centre to ask for a PayPoint card on 01795 417850 or call into the Sheerness office.
