Spirits are in abundance at the Royal Hotel pub. But they aren’t just behind the bar.

Sheppey psychic Charlotte Clark has been using her crystal ball to track down ghosts hiding upstairs in the bedrooms.

Now members of the public can learn how to contact the “other side”, too.

Charlotte, who runs the Lady of Light psychic development group, is launching lessons to train budding clairvoyants.

A new term of "spook school" starts on Monday (Sept 11) in the back room of the pub in Sheerness Broadway.

Charlotte said: “It is great to be returning to the Royal.

"I used to run sessions there 15 years ago and often had Britain’s top clairvoyants as guests. In those days, there was the spirit of a man in the cellar.

"Our group spent many an evening down there by candlelight. But he was quite nasty.

“I recall there was also a young lady who walked around the building and spirits of two children. It was very sad how they came to be there.”

The spooky sessions are with the agreement of new manageress Sarah Lewry.

She said: “I didn’t believe in any of this until I started here in July.

"It’s all new to me but my staff and I see ‘orbs’ in the bar all the time and there are a couple bedrooms upstairs where I get a funny feeling.”

TV psychic Charlotte, 53, a mum of five and grandma of six from Sheerness, said: “I’ve looked upstairs and seen the ghost of a senior Royal Navy officer standing in one of the bedrooms with his hands behind his back.

“I also saw the two little children on the stairs and a maid called Mary in Room 5 with keys and a packet of Polo mints in her pocket.”

Sarah said with a gasp: “My mum went to a psychic years ago who told her I would be contacted one day by a lady called Mary. This is very weird.”

Charlotte will show how to go into a trance, organise healing circles, move glasses and contact the dead.

She said: “I am hoping some of my old regulars will join me and I look forward to seeing new faces.”
