Man arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving on quad bike in Sheerness after police chase on A249

Police chased a quad bike for five miles after the driver reportedly failed to pull over.

Officers were called at 9.18pm on Sunday to a report of a man on an off-road vehicle acting suspiciously on the A249, in Sheerness.

Patrolling officers found the driver and asked for him to stop, but he did not.

After a short pursuit, he was brought to a controlled stop on Old Ferry Road, Iwade.

A 29-year-old man from Sheerness was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving without insurance.

He has been released on bail until March 3 while officers make further inquiries.
