During the incident, the victim reported she was followed into the toilet by a man who then sexually assaulted her.

Officers have since carried out a thorough investigation, which included utilising forensic opportunities and speaking to several key witnesses.

They also conducted a detailed review of CCTV in the area.

Following the investigation, all current lines of enquiry have been exhausted and officers say they are satisfied the incident was not as first described.

Detective Inspector Samantha Stuart said: “Kent Police will always take reports of sexual offences against women and girls extremely seriously and will always respond positively, ensuring that officers carry out detailed enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding any allegation.

“I want to provide reassurance to the community that we have carried out a thorough investigation and are satisfied that there is no wider risk to the public.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank those who came forward to assist our investigation.”
