Members of a Kent Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) branch are running, cycling and walking 200 miles for their 200-year anniversary.
On Monday, the RNLI is celebrating 200 years of saving lives at sea and the team at Sheerness is undertaking the mammoth task.
To do this the crew are using the facilities at Sheerness Weights.
Damien Bird, 43, crew for Sheerness RNLI, says they are “putting in the hard work” to say thank you for the support so far.
Mr Bird has been a volunteer for eight years and runs the gym.
He added: “We have smashed it today and are up to 372 miles.
“We should have only gone to 200 miles but we have got tomorrow as well.
“Every mile that we do is a massive thank to everyone who has got behind us.
“We will do anything and everything to say thank you.”
So far, the Sheerness RNLI team has raised more than £2,000.
As a charity, the RNLI depends on donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping people safe.
Lifeboat crews provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland.
