Police were called after a two-car crash in Leysdown resulted in the road being blocked.

Officers were called to Warden Bay Road at about 3.20pm after a collision involving a blue Volvo and a silver BMW, thought to be a convertible.

A spokesman said one of the cars had hit a lamppost near the junction with Leysdown Road.

He added: "No serious injuries were reported but one person was taken to hospital."

The road remained blocked until the vehicles were cleared.

It was back to normal by about 5.40pm.
