Scocles Road in Minster shut after car crashes into telegraph pole

A road has been closed after a car ploughed into a telegraph pole this morning.

UK Power Networks are currently at the scene trying to fix the problem and re-open the route.

It happened in Scocles Road, Minster, at 5.50am and travel around that part of the Island has been affected.

Bus company Travelmasters said: “There has been a crash in Scocles Road and is currently closed. All routes that use Scocles Road will serve Back Lane stop Minster Village and then the next stop will be Thistle Hill Primary School.

“Please make your way to one of these stops. 370B will serve Thistle Hill School stop and then to Back Lane stop.”

A police spokesman added: “Officers attended the scene where no injuries were reported. The road is currently closed to traffic pending the attendance of teams from UK Power Networks.”
