A man injured in a two-car smash yesterday is still in hospital.

Police closed the Lower Road between Scocles Road and Eastchurch Road, Minster, for four hours after the crash, which happened at about 1pm.

The 55-year-old man, from Maidstone, was cut from his car by firefighters after the accident, which involved a Fiat Punto and a Renault Clio.

He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with hip and pelvic injuries and police said today he is in a stable condition.

The Lower Road was re-opened at 3.55pm.
