Emergency repairs to a gas main have resulted in a temporary road closure on Sheppey.

The A250 Queenborough Road has been shut in both directions at Queenborough Corner, near to the junction with Brielle Way.

The road closure was put in place yesterday and Southern Gas Networks (SGN) has said it hopes to get the road re-opened by 2pm this afternoon.

"To ensure everyone's safety while we work, the road is closed in both directions near its junction with Brielle Way.

"Signed local diversion routes are in place and all businesses in the area remain open."
