Ryan Whittington is the new Sheerness Golf Club champion.

He shot two rounds of two-under-par 69 to finish six shots in front of joint runners-up, Jamie Paton and Derek Hutchins.

Kevin Ward was fourth, Adam Ryan fifth, Neil Cordier sixth, Robert Allman seventh and Anthony Hunter eighth. The top eight players will now play a knockout competition to decide the Scratch Cup winner.

The Ladies’ championship was won by ladies’ captain Gillian Matthews, while the junior title went to this year’s junior captain, Toby Simmance.

Handicap prizes in the junior section were won by Ben Pullen (second) and Jack Ryan (third).
