A BOY of 13 attacked an elderly and fragile woman...and captured the assault on a mobile phone to show his friends.
But his fellow students were so appalled by what they saw they went immediately to the head teacher at Minster College on Sheppey, Alan Klee. He put the matter into the hands of the police.
Sheila Hickson, who had celebrated her 80th birthday just days before the attack, is one of the most colourful characters in Sheerness. She was hit by the schoolboy in the car park near her home in Delamark Road on February 27. She did not require hospital treatment.
Mr Klee said: "This happened outside school and the boy was not wearing school uniform at the time so he has not been expelled."
The youth, from Sheerness, was arrested for common assault and given a formal warning at Sittingbourne Police Station.
A police spokesman said: "The teenager seemed to think what he did was a laugh but, the fact his friends were so horrified by what he had done and reported him, is very encouraging."
