A controversial proposal to create access off a busy main road is expected to be given the thumbs up by planners this week.
Residents have been campaigning against a plan to demolish a house in Marine Parade to create access to serve a nearby housing development.
Oceanview Associates was granted permission in 2010 to build 27 houses and eight flats on land at the rear of Seager Road, but there had been an issue of how they would be reached.
The worry from campaigners is that the road is already too busy and with an increase in traffic there is a real risk of someone being killed or seriously injured.
Swale council’s planning officers originally recommended the proposal for approval but a decision was deferred so a site visit could take place.
It happened last Monday and nine councillors were joined by about 20 campaigners as well as a representative from Kent Highways.
A decision will be made at the council’s planning meeting at Swale House in Sittingbourne on Thursday evening.
