Hunt for robber after Canterbury teen 'robbed at knifepoint' in Leysdown

A search has been launched for a man after a knife-wielding robber stole £1,100 from a teenage girl.

Joleen Bradshaw was threatened before her purse was forced from her grasp outside convenience store Premier in Leysdown Road, Leysdown-on-Sea, earlier this month.

The stolen purse contained bank cards, a driving licence and hundreds of pounds in cash, which the 19-year-old victim had won during a trip to the nearby arcades earlier that day.

Two by-standers ran after the robber, but when they confronted him, he pulled a blade out on them.

The incident took place on June 2.

Ms Bradshaw, who is from Canterbury, was left with cuts and bruises after her purse was wrested from her hand.

The teenager previously told KentOnline the ordeal had left her frightened to venture outside.

"I was terrified," she said.

"That was everything to me in that purse because I'm a student. I've got nothing now.

"I feel like I've been violated and that I've got to look around me all of the time. I'm scared to go out."
