Sheerness East reached the second round of the Inter-Regional Challenge Cup after a fine display in defeating Oakwood 3-0 last Saturday.
All three goals came in an exciting second half that also saw Oakwood denied by some good goalkeeping from Richard Higgin.
East took a deserved lead on 53 minutes when Graham Andrews (pictured) latched onto Matt Whiting’s through ball to score.
It was 2-0 five minutes with a near identical goal. This time Glen Sheather played Andrews through for his second goal.
Higgin made some fine saves to earn his first clean sheet of the season before Craig Holland netted his fifth of the season with a left-foot drive eight minutes from time.
There was still time for Oakwood to have an effort cleared off the line before the final whistle.
