A new contractor for the Sheerness Gateway Centre is due to be announced.
Last month we reported how the opening of the controversial one-stop shop for public services was delayed as Swale council had been forced to re-tender its main contractor.
It had originally been due to open in April but because the preferred contractor was not willing to absorb the cost implications of any risks of running over time and budget, they had to re-tender.
The £1.3m project, which is based in the former Woolworths store in the High Street, is a joint venture with Kent County Council and Swale council.
It will house services including Kent Police, Job Centre Plus, Age Concern and social services.
A Swale council spokesman said they hoped to announce a new contractor lin the coming days and from then, it should be two weeks until work restarts.
