A movie which has been filmed on Sheppey is being showcased as part of an event to introduce new British cinema talent.
The opening credits of The Hide were filmed on the marshes of Elmley and other parts were filmed in Harty.
The Hide is the story of Roy Tunt, an obsessive bird watcher whose aim is to have twitched the entire British list of birds.
His only company in the creaky bird-hide is a picture of his ex-wife, until a bedraggled, unshaven and bloodied stranger arrives.
The two men discover they have a lot in common, until news of a police manhunt drives their relationship to a tragic conclusion.
The 84 minute film is directed by Marek Losey and stars well-known TV actor Alex Macqueen and Philip Campbell.
The Hide is being showcased as part of the Institution of Contemporary Arts Cinema’s New British Cinema.
New British Cinema is a season of eight films which will run throughout June at the ICA in London.
The Hide is not the first movie to be filmed on the Island, last year we reported on Maidstone filmmaker Derek Boyes, who has set his film Blackout here.
Blackout is a thriller about a man who wakes up next to the body of a woman.
Last year Derek entered Blackout into The Big Pitch to win a £250,000 production prize.
Despite coming second in the competition, Derek still hoped to make the film and had been approached by a producer.
Last month, Derek and his team took Blackout to Cannes Film Festival in France, and he said the feedback he got was so good, he hopes to start filming in November.
Derek said: "I went along to Cannes with my book of pictures of Sheppey to show all the agents and people what it’s like so they could get an idea.
"It was all very positive and we are hoping to get the money to finance it for shooting in November."
