Sheppey Rugby Club coach Frank Davis describes Saturday’s relegation battle with Erith as "a massive game for the club".
Victory for Sheppey at The Ditch, combined with the likely defeat of fellow strugglers HSBC by Cranbrook, would see Davis’s side move out of the bottom two in Kent 1.
And, with two of their next three matches also against teams in the lower reaches of the division, the Sheppey coach believes his side have a great chance in the next few weeks to secure their status for next season.
Davis (pictured) said: "I know it’s a cliche but Saturday’s game really is a ‘four-pointer’ for both sides.
"The problem you have when you are on the bottom is that, because nobody wants the embarrassment of losing to a bottom-of-the-league side, they are all on edge against you but we can remove that pressure by winning our next two or three games."
He added: "We have our destiny in our own hands and we showed what we are capable of by beating Vigo in our last game."
